‘Wheel of Fortune’ contestant ‘sorry’ for scaring Pat Sajak

Scaredy Pat!

Pat Sajak, 76, was given quite the scare by contestant Laryn Nelson on Wednesday’s episode of “Wheel of Fortune,” getting so spooked that he jumped and threw his cards into the air.

In the hilarious clip, which was posted to the official Wheel of Fortune account on the platform X, Nelson can be seen trying to fill in the remaining letters on the board in the final round.

She guessed, “Pitching my goals,” but it turned out there was no “pitching” in the phrase — the answer was “Obtaining my goals.”

“I’m gonna do that one day, though,” Nelson joked as she stood next to Sajak. “Obtaining my goals.”

“There’s really no need for a host on this show,” Sajak jokingly remarked. “Just let them do it.”

Then suddenly, as the prize she didn’t win was revealed, Nelson let out a huge scream, which sent Sajak into a visible fright.

He jumped and his cards flew behind him.

“Sorry,” Nelson said afterwards.

“It’s alright, I’ll be fine,” Sajak replied, as he adjusted his tie, still appearing shook up.

The Post reached out to representatives to Sajak and “Wheel of Fortune” for comment.

The episode is the third in the premiere week for Season 41 — which is also Sajak’s last.

He has hosted “Wheel” since 1981, while resident letter-turner Vanna White, 66, joined the show a year later.

Ryan Seacrest, 48, will be taking Sajak’s place as host, beginning in 2024.

It’s unclear if White will be returning to the classic game show then, as she is rumored to be in the middle of a contentious contract negotiation.

Puck News reported that White hired powerhouse attorney Bryan Freedman to broker a deal for her, as she allegedly hasn’t received a raise in 18 years.

In a new interview with Fortune’s CEO, Alan Murray, at Fortune’s Impact Initiative Conference, the “American Idol” host said he would love to host with White next year.

“I love Vanna White,” Seacrest said, in part, when asked whether or not he would keep White next season.

“I’ve known Vanna for a long time. We sat in important places next to each other. And I hope for nothing more than to be able to walk out on that stage and host with her.”

White’s contract runs until 2024, according to Deadline.

She has already negotiated a new contract and salary for the celebrity version of “Wheel.”
