‘Wheel of Fortune’ contestant berated for missing bonus puzzle

Fans were wheely vicious.

One “Wheel of Fortune” contestant found herself the butt of several online jokes after she missed a very easy bonus round puzzle.

Contestant Tarhea Marshall managed to make her way into the legendary game show’s bonus round Friday with a whopping $25,898, and a chance to score a brand-new car.

In the final round, Marshall was presented with the customary “R, S, T, L, N, E” letters after telling the show’s host, Pat Sajak, that she wanted to attempt the show’s “Food and Drink” category.

After telling Sajak, 77, that she wanted to add the letters “C, B, G and A,” the puzzle read as: ” “BAGELS & _ _ _G_N_TS.”

The pottery painter was then given 10 seconds to solve the mystery puzzle.

Marshall attempted to solve the puzzle by shouting “bagels and beignets” and “bagels and croissants,” but she ultimately failed.

The puzzle’s correct answer was later revealed by Sajak to be “bagels and doughnuts.”

“You know a lot of shops have stopped spelling it the proper way,” Sajak said.

“Now I have to look in here and see what we didn’t get,” he added, revealing that Marshall’s prize would have been a BMW.

While the TV host attempted to console Marshall, many X (formerly Twitter) users were not so generous.

“BAGELS AND BEIGNETS OVER BAGELS AND DOUGHNUTS? ARE YOU F—KING MAD,” one user on X screamed.

“She missed Bagels & Doughnuts,” a second person commented. “Where do they find these people?”

“IT WAS BAGELS AND DOUGHNUTS YOU MORON HOW DID YOU GET IT WRONG OMG,” a third user complained.

This is not the first time a contestant’s trip to the bonus round has gone astray.

Earlier this month, one contestant was denied a victory after she failed to pronounce “Congenial”correctly.

“Uh, no,” the longtime emcee told contestant Shauna Williams.

Marshall attempted to solve the puzzle by shouting “bagels and beignets” as well as “bagels and croissants” however, she was unable to solve the correct answer before the timer ended. Wheel of Fortune

Williams’ competitor Steve Sporre then said the reply correctly and scored the points.

“Pat Sajak was cold-blooded here. ‘No,’” one person commented.

“Can’t lie I didn’t even know with that word was and prob would of pronounced it the same,” another added.

Sajak announced last June that he will be retiring from “Wheel” after the show’s 41st season.

“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” he tweeted at the time. “It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!).”

Ryan Seacrest will be replacing Sajak after this year.
