Ukrainians blow up Russia’s main trainline to China in huge blow for Putin | World | News

The aftermath has prompted a response from Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), reportedly on-site assessing the situation.

Railway workers are frantically attempting to mitigate the consequences of what appears to be a meticulously planned SSU special operation.

Ukrainska Pravda’s report quotes an unnamed source within the SSU, stating: “Four explosive devices went off during the movement of the freight train.

“Now the FSB is working on the spot, and railway workers are unsuccessfully trying to minimise the consequences of the SSU’s special operation.”

Russian media outlets have also covered the incident, highlighting the severity of the disruption caused by the explosion.

The Baikal-Amur Mainline is described as the sole major railway link between Russia and China, emphasizing its critical role in facilitating not only civilian but also military logistics.

While Russian media has reported the explosion in the Severomuysky Tunnel, there has been no official confirmation from Russian authorities regarding the involvement of the Ukrainian Security Service.

Some Russian Telegram channels have echoed the claims, suggesting that the explosion was a carefully executed operation by the SSU.

The Security Service of Ukraine has maintained silence, officially neither confirming nor denying its involvement in the events.

The BAM, constructed by the Soviet Union, serves as a vital transit railway traversing Siberia, facilitating the transportation of cargo shipments to Asia.

Spanning approximately 4,300 kilometers, equivalent to nearly 2,700 miles, it stands as one of the longest railway networks globally.
