Tom Brady doesn’t want to talk about Jets quarterback job

Tom Brady had a succinct answer when asked about potentially being the Jets’ starting quarterback.

The Jets turned to Zach Wilson after Aaron Rodgers went down with a devastating Achilles injury just four snaps into his first game as the team’s quarterback during Week 1 against the Bills.

Jets brass has been adamant, so far, that they are sticking with Wilson as the starter — and that calling Brady is not an option.

On his SiriusXM show “Let’s Go!” on Monday, Brady was asked by co-host Jim Gray if the Jets have reached out at all to inquire about his services.

Brady cut Gray off before he could even finish: “No, no, no. Next question. You already know. I love being with you guys on Mondays and I love what we’ve got going.”

The subject matter quickly changed to incoming guest Deion Sanders.

Wilson was 12 of 27 for 170 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in the Jets’ 30-10 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday.

Brady retired from the Buccaneers after last season, but there has been persistent speculation that quarterback-needy teams could try to woo the 46-year-old out of retirement as he led the NFL in completions last year as the team won the NFC South.

“I’m certain I’m not playing again, so I’ve tried to make that clear, and I hate to continue to profess that, cause I’ve already told people that lots of times,” Brady told Sports Illustrated this past June.

“But I’m looking forward to my broadcasting job at Fox next year. I’m looking forward to the opportunity ahead with the Raiders and we’re in the process of that, along with the other different things that I’m a part of professionally and in my personal life, just spending as much time with my kids as I can and seeing them grow up and support the different things that they have going on, and that’s a very important job, and I take them all pretty seriously.”

The one thing that would shut the door for almost good on a potential Brady return would be if he finalizes his purchase of a minority stake in the Raiders.

As of Sunday, that deal had not closed.
