The One Show halted as Stacey Dooley rushed off set during appearance live on air | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Alex Jones and Roman Kemp fronted Thursday’s edition of The One Show and were joined by special guests including documentary-maker Stacey Dooley and actress Celia Imrie.

The Strictly Come Dancing winner, 37, opened up about her new role in her West End debut as Jenny in the return of 2:22 – A Ghost Story.

Roman quizzed the on-screen star about her performance which Stacey described as a woman on “the edge of an existential crisis”.

“She’s just had a baby,” she explained. “The baby is still on the boob. She’s knackered. It’s all going on.”

Stacey continued: “I thought you know what? If I can try anything, I can try this…” Her comments come after the TV star welcomed her first child, daughter Minnie, with her partner Kevin Clifton last year.

Just seconds later Roman was forced to interject as he urged the Strictly star to leave the set to get on stage for her performance later this evening.

He commented: “In fact, we can’t keep you long. I’m being told now, you’re on stage in about 40 minutes… and your bike. You’ve got a motorbike taking you there.”

Stacey chuckled: “How showbiz is this Roman?”

“We need to get this on you,” he remarked pointing to a motorbike helmet.

As she rushed off the set, Roman could be heard chanting, “Go, go, go,” while Alex gushed: “Break a leg.”
