Saturday Kitchen’s Matt Tebbutt called out for ‘dissing dead nan’ after wardrobe row | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Matt Tebbutt was scolded by BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty after he insulted his co-star Olly Smith.

After telling viewers what was coming up on Saturday Kitchen, he wasted no time in calling out Olly’s wardrobe choice.

Pointing at his colourful shirt, Matt said: “This is quite nostalgic for me, it looks like my nan’s kitchen blinds.”

As the crew burst into laughter over Matt’s cheeky jibe, Olly was quick to defend his outfit option.

He replied: “No, it looks like the combination of the seasons!

“It’s summer into autumn, thank you very much, Matthew.”

The host added: “And my nan’s kitchen blinds.”

Cutting back to the studio, the BBC Breakfast host highlighted he may offend his nan if she hears what he’s saying about her home decor.

Naga replied: “You need to be careful, is your nan watching? Because if you’re going to diss her blinds.”

However, Naga caught herself in an awkward exchange as Mattherw interrupted to reveal his nan was dead.

She replied: “Oh, right, ok.”

Laughing at the situation, it seemed the Saturday Kitchen host didn’t seem to mind her comment as he light-heartedly replied: “I mean, she might be (watching), who knows!”

Naga quipped: “You’re dissing your dead nan’s blinds on live TV, seriously what is wrong with you Matt?”

Although he told the host his nan would find the situation funny as Naga tried to move on from the subject.

She said: “Olly, I think the shirt is great as usual, Matt, you could make more of an effort.”

It seemed as though Matthew found the whole situation hilarious as he continued to laugh as the BBC Breakfast host ended their segment.

Saturday Kitchen continues Saturdays on BBC One from 10am
