Nick Knowles showcased a brand new look that made him barely recognisable. Fans were stunned to see the star looking completely different when he appeared on BBC series The One Show.
The presenter, 61, was joined by Strictly Come Dancing‘s Amy Dowden on Monday night’s episode, and although he appeared to chat about his latest project, all eyes were soon on his drastic makeover.
The previously clean-cut DIY SOS presenter flaunted an impressive, long beard on the BBC programme. Alex Jones, the show’s host, pointed out what everyone was thinking: “There’s an elephant in the room here. Nobody’s talking about it. There’s a new look, Nick, going on well.” To which Nick responded saying, “There’s there’s two things with it. One is I’m not actually doing any filming for a while. I’m doing some writing and things and so I had the chance to grow a beard and actually, weirdly for men you get a chance to grow a beard, like, ‘I’ll grow one.'”
He continued, “I can’t have a beard like this when I’m filming. So that was one thing. And the other thing is a friend asked me to do some acting and years ago, long when… I’ve been in TV for 40 years now. When I started out, I started doing a bit of acting and I’ve been asked in-between. Now I’ve got a bit of space, so I’ve said yes to play a part.”
Fans were shocked when they saw Nick Knowles looking so different. One fan said on social media: “Nick Knowles is totally unrecognisable.”
Another wrote: “Didn’t recognise Nick Knowles.” Someone else posted: “Bloody hell, Nick Knowles! I could tell it was him by the voice, but when I looked up, I seriously couldn’t recognise him!!!” And one person made a joke: “Wait… Nick Knowles was on #TheOneShow… missed it!”
Katie Dadzie, who is going to marry Nick, showed everyone a peek into their life at home. She’s 34 and runs a lingerie business. On Instagram, she put up pictures of her birthday party. In one photo, she’s wearing a tight dress with a brown pattern and tall suede boots, and you can see their bedroom mirror.
In another picture from a restaurant, Katie takes a selfie with Nick during a “birthday dinner date”. Katie, who has two kids, met Nick in 2019 because of their children. But she recently said that she didn’t really like him at first. She didn’t know much about his work on TV, and he didn’t let her talk much.
They found out they both love cooking and history when they went for coffee. But some mean people online have been nasty about how much older Nick is than Katie.
They also say mean things like Katie is just with Nick for his money. Nick stood up for Katie on X, which used to be Twitter. He said: “She [Katie] has degrees in two subjects, runs three businesses, is a mother of two, is wealthier and more successful than me and is intelligent and independent unlike the abusive trolls attacking her.”
