Mrs Browns Boys has been met with complaints and backlash just three episodes in after its return with many fans claiming it is a waste of taxpayers’ money.
Fans of the BBC One comedy show usually only get their fix of Agnes and her clan during festive periods.
However, the show has been commissioned for another full series and Christmas Special in December 2023.
As the third instalment of the show kicked off, viewers were left disappointed with the show and took to their Twitter accounts to complain.

@nomadsoulful asked: “Is #mrsbrownsboys supposed to be funny?”
Alex Dowling expressed: “BBC still wasting Licence Fee Payers money with some slice of unfunny Irish Granny behaviour.#MrsBrownsBoys.”
@gnometweeter celebrated: “THANK F***K THAT’S OVER! #MrsBrownsBoys.” (sic)
However, not all viewers were left unimpressed by the episode as @Suzy_H14 commented: “I know not everyone finds #MrsBrownsBoys funny but it makes me laugh.” (sic)
During tonight’s episode, Lotto fever hit Foley’s bar, and it didn’t take long before rumours swirled around Finglas that Agnes was the jackpot winner.
Meanwhile, a DNA test and the surprise return visit of Cathy’s childhood friend left Agnes with some serious questions to answer about her past.
Earlier in the year, show creator and Agnes actor Brendan Carroll revealed the series had faced two set-backs due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking of the new series, he told The Daily Mail: “This mini-series was actually planned for 2021.
“Having been thwarted twice, firstly by Covid-19 and then by a post-Covid shortage of studios, it’s fantastic to, at last, have the chance to make it happen.
“Fasten your seatbelts and hold on to your hats!”
Mrs Browns Boys airs Friday from 9:30pm on BBC One.
