Meghan Markle apologizes after Prince Harry reunion at Invictus Games

Let the games begin.

Meghan Markle, 42, joined Prince Harry, 38, Tuesday in Düsseldorf, Germany, for the Invictus Games 2023, a multi-sport event Harry created in 2014 for wounded veterans.

Photos obtained by The Post show the Duke and Duchess of Sussex speaking onstage at the “Friends @ Home Event” at the Station Airport during the third day of the annual games.

The couple made a rare joint speech, with Meghan first saying it was “special” to her to have arrived in Germany, according to The Mirror.

“I’m really, really proud to be part of this Invictus family with all of you. I’m grateful for all of you that are here,” she reportedly said. “I just landed a couple hours ago and I am thrilled that the first event that I can do for Invictus is here with all of you. It is amazing and I hear the week so far has gotten off to a good start, is that right?”

Markle also apologized and explained her reasoning for joining her husband on Day 4 of the Games. “I’m sorry that I was a little late to the party,” she said, before mentioning Prince Archie and Princess Lili. “I just had to spend a little more time getting our little ones settled at home, putting milkshakes for their school drop-off.”

Harry followed his wife’s unscripted remarks, adding, “First to the friends and family that are here, I understand that a lot of the competitors are hopefully sleeping after a very long day.”

“But this is your chance to connect with each other because everyone here is in a different phase of their healing process, whether as an individual or as a family.”

He continued, “The fact of the matter is, everybody in this room has some form of a shared experience so use this moment to connect with each other. Swap photos, swap numbers. Have a wonderful evening.”

The former “Suits” actress was spotted Monday morning at Los Angeles’ LAX airport as she prepared to meet up with her redheaded hubby in Europe.

Markle’s travel outfit doubled as a quiet luxury serve as her onboard designer duds reportedly cost a whopping $40,000.

Meanwhile Tuesday, Harry, 38, watched a wheelchair basketball match between Team Ukraine and Team Great Britain at a Rehabilitation Expo event.

He also posed for pictures with members of each team and met with a few of the kids out who came out to cheer on their country.

The games, which are modeled after the Paralympics, began on Sept. 9 and are set to run until Sept. 16. This year, 21 countries are competing in 10 sports categories with 550 contestants playing.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to attend the Invictus Games 2023 in Düsseldorf. The Duke will be in attendance throughout the entirety of the games and will be joined by The Duchess shortly after the games begin,” a spokesperson for the couple said in a statement last month.

Harry and Meghan will reportedly be staying in a swanky $2,500-a-night suite at the Hyatt Regency, which is apparently one of the fanciest hotels in Düsseldorf.

Before Markle flew across the pond, she and a female friend stopped at In-N-Out, which the former “Deal or No Deal” model once claimed was Harry’s “favorite.”

“There’s one at the halfway point between LA and our neck of the woods. It’s really fun to go through the drive-through and surprise them. They know our order,” she told Variety in October.
