A new Miss New York USA has been crowned.
Marizza Delgado, 25, won the annual pageant contest out of 170 contestants in Albany, New York, on Sunday.
Delgado wore a sequin dress as she received the Miss New York USA sash, a crown, and a bouquet of red roses on the stage.
She had tears in her eyes in photos from the moment she won the competition.
Delgado beat runner-ups Judy Lin, Zoe McGrady, Shreya Gundelly and Jenna-Monét Queeley
The Filipino-American fashion model succeeds last year’s winner Rachelle Di Stasio.
Delgado will represent New York at Miss USA 2024 in Los Angeles in August.
The Post reached out to a rep for Miss New York USA for comment.
According to Pageant Circle, Delgado is a fashion model, engineer and advocate for women in STEM.
She is a former Miss Pacific Coast Teen USA and Miss New York Earth USA. She placed in the Top 20 at Miss Earth USA 2021.
Delgado’s parents were both immigrants from the Philippines.
She was born in San Jose, California and moved to NYC to become a model and data scientist.
Deglado announced she was competing in Miss New York USA 2024 in March.
“Excited to finally share that I’m competing for Miss New York USA 2024 this June in Albany, NY. I’ve been so blessed to place 3RU in 2023 and 2022, but this year, I’m focused and ready for the crown,” she said on Instagram.
Deglado added: “I’m beyond grateful for everyone who continues to support me in my pageant journey year after year. I look forward to making a positive impact in my local community and statewide, and changing the face of technology with @GirlsWhoCode.”
A few days before the pageant, Delgado opened up about how she was feeling heading into the event.
“New York, I’m ready for you,” she wrote on Instagram. “Today I’m leaving to compete for Miss New York USA 2024 and it’s time to put my hard work to the test.”
“My heart is overflowing with gratitude because I know what I can bring to the title and the legacy I want to leave. Time to leave it all on the stage!” she added.
Last year’s winner, Di Stasio, beat 184 contestants at the state pageant last August.
She started as a ballerina before transitioning into modeling. She survived a sexual assault at age 4 and became involved with the nonprofit Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, also known as RAINN, according to her bio on Miss New York USA’s website.
“[I’m] ready for my voice to be heard, my story to be shared and be part of something beautiful,” [I’m] ready for my voice to be heard, my story to be shared and be part of something beautiful,” she told The Post back in 2021.
“I’ve been able to use my voice and strength to get me where I am today, and want to let other women know that their past doesn’t affect their self-worth or who they are,” she added.
Di Stasio competed in Miss USA 2023 in September and placed outside the Top 20. Noelia Voigt of Utah won.
