Loose Women’s Gloria Hunniford leaves Coleen Nolan offended after weight remark | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Gloria Hunniford left her Loose Women co-stars gobsmacked after unintentionally taking a swipe at Coleen Nolan.

On Wednesday’s instalment of the ITV show, the panellists were discussing Amanda Abbington’s recent Strictly Come Dancing departure and the pressure of certain situations.

During the topic, the hosts were detailing times in their lives when they wanted to walk away from something as Coleen mentioned her time on Dancing on Ice.

Back in 2009, the 58-year-old competed in the fourth series of the show with professional skater Stuart Widdall.

As a video clip of Coleen appeared on-screen, she confessed: “Every single week, because it’s a live show as well and it’s on ice, I remember thinking, ‘I can’t do this.’

“Even that makes me feel slightly nauseous, the nerves of it.”

As Olivia Attwood commented on how amazing she looked, Gloria accidentally got herself into an awkward situation. She commented: “Very, very slim!”

Picking up on her remark about her weight, Coleen hit back: “Alright Gloria.”

The live audience burst into laughter over the cheeky swipe as the panel were gobsmacked over her frank comment.

As Gloria tried to get herself out of the situation, she added: “No, but you are! You were…”

Co-star Brenda Edwards questioned the remark and exclaimed: “Were?!”

The 83-year-old replied: “You know what that was? On the tongue and then in the brain.”

Although the host saw the mishap in good jest, she couldn’t help but bring it up later on in the show.

Coleen told the panel she had a dog trainer come around her home to see her new rescue, although he confessed it was her who needed help not the dog.

She said: “I’m humanising all the animals and forgetting that they don’t think like me, because I worry about them.”

Coleen ended the segment by adding: “So, apparently, I need therapy and a diet, according to Gloria! It’s been a great show today.”

Loose Women continues weekdays on ITV from 12.30pm.
