Jay Blades tells Sir David Jason to ‘do one’ as he jokingly storms off-camera | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

David and Jay’s Touring Toolshed follows Sir David Jason and The Repair Shop presenter Jay Blades as they travel across the country with a mobile tool shop.

During the third instalment of the BBC series, Jay fell victim to Sir David’s merciless mocking and jokingly stormed off the set.

The moment happened after Jay was put through a crash course in barrel marking, but Sir David decided to mock Jay over his barrel-crafting attempts from the sidelines.

The Only Fools and Horses actor teased Jay as he tried to assemble the item: “Just remember we haven’t got three days for this programme…”

However, an irritated Jay snapped back: “No, it’s not gonna fall in! Listen, less of the verbal over there, alright?”

Sir David could not stop winding Jay up, telling him: “You should’ve been way down with your rings on the barrel by this time.”

Jay soon had to be assisted by one of the barrel-making professionals, with Sir David teasing: “Oh, you’re having the help from the professional.”

Once the barrel was completed, Sir David branded Jay’s creation “wobbly” as he told the latter to “lift it up”.

Sir David suggested Jay used his thumb to keep the item sturdy but the presenter clapped back: “I’ll tell you where I’ll put my thumb in a minute if you don’t stop talking.”

Before long, the barrel expert gave Jay a measly four out of 10 for his efforts.

Jay then ripped his apron off and told the expert and Sir David he’d had enough of their mockery.

“The two of you can do one, I’ve had enough. I’ve had enough,” Jay fumed before he stormed off-camera away from the barrel.

“To be honest, he didn’t do too bad, did he?” Sir David admitted as Jay was out of earshot.

David and Jay’s Travelling Tool Shop episodes are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
