ITV Britain’s Got Talent winner ‘sealed’ as Amanda Holden left in tears | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Britain’s Got Talent returned for the third episode of live semi-final shows this evening (May 29), with fans at home already declaring one act as the winner.

Singer Sydnie Christmas returned to the ITV stage to face judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli once more. She won the hearts of them and the audience in the audition round and was even granted a Golden Buzzer.

In the auditions, Sydnie performed Tomorrow from the popular musical Annie, which Simon first admitted was a tune he despised. However, he changed his mind once she performed. The singer received a standing ovation from the entire audience and the judges and was in awe over the reaction.

Amanda, who chose Sydnie as her Golden Buzzer act, told Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly head of today’s acts: “She is absolutely phenomenal. I don’t know what she’s singing, I want to be surprised. But I know she’s going to smash it.”

Tonight, Sydnie performed a beautiful rendition of Frank Sinatra‘s I Did It My Way. Ant pointed out that Amanda looked like she was “almost in tears” as the pretty-in-pink judge wafted her hand in her face to fight back the waterworks.

All of the judges had spectacular feedback for the singer as Bruno described her voice as “stunning”. Alesha joked: “Christmas has come early hasn’t it?”

She said she was “dumbfounded” by the act as her “heart was pounding” while watching. Alesha added: “You are a superstar in the making – One to beat!”

Simon agreed as he said: “It wasn’t a ten it was an 11 in my opinion.” He added: “If it wasn’t for people like you, I wouldn’t bother making this show.”

Fans at home also absolutely adored the act and declared Sydnie to be the show’s overall winner. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote: “Sidnie Christmas is the winner of Britains Got Talent 2024 #BGT”

Another penned: “AMAZING ABSOLUTELY SMASHED THAT! YOUR WINNER RIGHT THERE #bgt.” A third said: “No need for a final. She is a winner.#bgt.”

Someone else wrote: “Sydnie should win the finals #bgt.” One more user added: ” Wow!!!!! What a superb vocal powerhouse Sydnie is! Absolutely amazing!!! She can go far … I’m definitely going to her concerts and tour! She is amazing!!! #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.”

According to bookies, this year’s BGT live final could be the closest one ever. Labrokes have said that six acts are currently priced at 9/1 or shorter to win this series, with Innocent Masuku currently leading the way at 11/4, ahead of Mike Woodhams (9/2).

Elsewhere, Denise & Stefan, Jack Rhodes and Sydnie Christmas are all 5/1 apiece, with Haribow currently priced at 9/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “We’re strapping in for what could be one of the most tightly contested BGT finales of all time, with no less than six acts currently in with a genuine chance of going all the way this weekend.”

Britain’s Got Talent live semi-finals continues on ITV and ITVX tomorrow at 8pm
