Iman Shumpert denies he made Teyana Taylor feel endangered amid nasty divorce

Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s split is turning messy as the former NBA player is attempting to remove her “cruel treatment” claim from their divorce filing.

In her Nov. 22 filing, the singer and dancer reportedly claimed Shumpert made her feel endangered, and therefore, cited “cruel treatment” as the reason for the divorce.

Under Georgia case law, that means the marriage “must consist of the willful infliction of pain, bodily or mental, upon the complaining party, such as reasonably justifies apprehension of danger to life, limb, or health.”

However, Shumpert claims these factors don’t pertain to their case, and wants these accusations removed from the paperwork.

He asked in court Thursday that the grounds for divorce be changed to be “irretrievable broken bond,” according to documents obtained by TMZ.

Shumpert added he has never been irresponsible when it comes to caring for the couple’s two daughters, Junie, 7, and Rue, 3.

The Post has contacted reps for Taylor and Shumpert for comment.

In Taylor’s original filing, she accused Shumpert of “displaying extreme narcissistic behavior throughout the majority of their marriage.”

He also allegedly sent her “condescending and manipulative” messages, and “did not want her to work” as he was “insecure” that his professional basketball career was ending.

Shumpert officially retired from the NBA in 2021.

Taylor also accused Shumpert of cheating on her multiple times throughout their marriage and “being extremely emotionally and mentally abusive” towards her.

She previously claimed “infidelity” was not a factor when they first separated in September.
