Matt asked: “You’ve done a Christmas special and this is also a personal journey?”
“It is,” Dave replied. “This was kind of like the Hairy Bikers best ever Christmas because it’s the Christmas I never thought I would be here for.”
Matt asked: “How have you been?”
Dave replied: “I’m doing well. Just building up for Christmas. We’ve been busy, back on the bikes.”
The BBC presenter quizzed the Hairy Bikers star on his work schedule and was surprised to know he had no plans of slowing down.
His pal and colleague Si interjected: “He’s got more energy than me.”
The pair went on to discuss their latest book, The Hairy Bikers Ultimate Comfort Food, with the show guests as Dave discussed one dish in particular, Filipino noodles.
He commented: “Without whinging on about hospital visits I spent a fair time there and to get my appetite back, the nurses were bringing stuff in.”
The chef explained that one of the nurses would bring him her signature Filipino dish.
