GMB’s Susanna Reid issues warning to Labour MP as Ed Balls makes two-word dig | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid had strict rules before wlecoming Labour MP Jonathan Ashworth onto the show on Monday morning (July 1).

The ITV presenter was joined by her co-star Ed Balls as they continued with their election coverage and quizzed Ashworth on taxes among other policies outlined in the manifesto.

But before she could get started, Susanna warned Ashworth there were strict rules in place for him appearing on the show.

She said: “So you’re on notice, Mr Ashworth, from our people’s panel. No childish tit-for-tat, no promising things you’re not going to do and no attacking the other party.

“I wonder if we can get through a whole political interview without that happening?”

Co-star Ed Balls immidiately chimed: “No chance.” Susanna laughed at his quick response, adding: “Ed’s expectations are low. The people’s panel’s expectations are high.”

She then asked what would happen if Labour got into government.

As he laid out a brief explanation of their intentions, he ended his statement with: “Come out and vote for Labour on Thursday.”

Susanna immediately chirped: “See, you couldn’t resist!”
