Giants keeping Jessie Armstead after Raiders flirtation

One former Giants linebacker great tried to poach another.

Head coach Antonio Pierce and the Raiders pursued Giants special assistant to the general manager Jessie Armstead for a similar role, but he is staying put, sources told The Post.

The Raiders thought Armstead was coming to point where he had a presence at their team facility, but instead he will remain under contract with the Giants.

Raiders general manager Tom Telesco and Pierce have never worked together.

Former Giants head coach Tom Coughlin advised Pierce last season during a nine-game stint as interim head coach and has remained in a consulting role as Pierce builds a coaching and support staff, per NFL Network.
