Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ abuser Tom King’s downfall after spotting clue | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Domestic abuser Tom King (played by James Chase) went behind his wife Belle Dingle’s (Eden Taylor Draper) back to tell Emmerdale villagers they were expecting their first child together despite the latter’s request to keep the pregnancy a secret for the time being.

After Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) shared the baby news across a cafe with her husband Jimmy King (Nick Miles) on Wednesday’s episode of the long-running soap, a stunned Belle walked in.

Looking furious over Tom’s betrayal, she raged: “You told them! Tom, look, there is a reason we have decided to keep it quiet. It’s because it is too soon!”

He tried to calm Belle down and responded: “I know, I didn’t mean to, I just got excited. They are my family, they are all I’ve got.”

“What if something happens?” A concerned Belle asked before she gave him permission to share it with anyone he desired.

They later visited nurse Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) as Tom had arranged a check-up.

However, a concerned Wendy privately asked Belle if she was OK as she felt something wasn’t right between her and Tom. Belle concealed her true feelings and acted like everything was fine and dandy.

Emmerdale viewers flocked to Twitter as they were convinced Wendy would be the person to expose abusive Tom in upcoming scenes after spotting a clue.

One fan theorised: “After remembering that Wendy’s husband was abusive I deffo saw this coming !! It’s time to take Tom down #Emmerdale.”

Another said: “I’m convinced that Wendy will be the one to expose Tom because her ex-husband was abusive and she is starting to see through Belle #Emmerdale.”

A third penned: “How come Wendy is the only one that can see the red flags?! #Emmerdale.”

Pam added: “When the man is doing the talking for the partner BIG RED FLAG. A good nurse would pick up on this in an instant….can Wendy actually get through to her #Emmerdale.”

Emmerdale fans will recall Wendy was terrorised by her abusive ex-husband Russ (Rob Jarvis) in recent years.

She’s in a far better place now he’s out of her life and not controlling it, but she might be picking up on Tom’s coercive behaviour toward Belle. Will she put a stop to it?
