Emmerdale exit ‘sealed’ for Cain as couple torn apart after character attacked | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

An exit could be on the cards for Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) following upsetting scenes on Emmerdale. Tuesday’s hour-long episode kicked off with Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) and Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) heading to see Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) in prison.

Viewers of the ITV soap know that Matty was wrongly arrested for stabbing Samson Dingle (Sam Hall). After Matty opened up about how scared he is, Moira vowed to do everything she could to try and get her son out of prison.

Aware that Josh Cope (Osian Morgan) was the real instigator, Cain pleaded with Samson to tell the truth and not let Matty rot in jail. However, his plan didn’t work and Cain was forced to tell Moira that Samson is sticking to his story.

In the Woolpack, Moira urged Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) to distract Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) while she followed Samson into the toilet. Moira pinned Samson against the wall, pushing his hand into his stab wound.

Moira threatened: “This pain is going to get a whole lot worse unless you start telling the truth.” Charity walked in on the two before Mack held his sister back. Moira begged Samson once again, however, he responded by saying he hopes that Matty never gets out of prison.

Back at their house, Moira belittled Cain for not helping Matty. He urged her to stay away from Samson, to which she hit back: “I wouldn’t need to go near him if you stepped up. You reckon you’re the head of this family. Start acting like it.”

When Cain explained he couldn’t force Samson to tell the truth, Moira claimed “the old Cain” could have, adding: “You go to prison for your own son but you won’t even get your hands dirty for mine.”

Moira continued insulting her husband, suggesting the reason Cain didn’t stand up to Samson is because he is scared that his nephew will attack him like Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) did.

“One nephew already put you in hospital, so you bottled it because you thought the other one might do the same,” Moira said. “You are not the man I married. The old Cain, he’d have taken Samson apart.”

Moira continued taunting Cain, adding: “The old Cain always had my back. He wasn’t afraid of anything or anyone. He was fearless.” She later claimed that no one respects Cain after what Aaron did to him.

Cain attempted to diffuse the situation, saying he planned on ignoring Moira because she’s “upset and lashing out”. Moira attempted to bring out Cain’s angry side, however, he wouldn’t bite back.

This only riled Moira more as she fumed: “You are a coward, Cain, face it. You are weak and you are no use to me. I don’t even know what the point of you is anymore.”

Will Cain end up turning his back on his wife and leaving the village for good?
