Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders went into ‘Brady mode’ with 98-yard drive

It wasn’t Prime Time for Shedeur Sanders.

Instead, it was “Brady mode.”

Colorado’s quarterback channeled No. 12 on Saturday night, leading a 98-yard drive at the end of regulation and capping it off with a two-point conversion to tie the Buffalos up with Colorado State.

Sanders then completed a pair of touchdowns to Michael Harrison in the extra minutes before adding another two-point conversion to seal the 43-35 win in double overtime, leading to a field-storming in Boulder.

“All I was thinking was Brady mode,” Sanders told SportsCenter of the last drive of regulation. “That’s it. Simple … They left too much time out there.”

That drew a response from Brady himself on X, formerly known as Twitter, posting a pair of emojis in response to the quote.

For much of the night, it looked like the Rams would hand Sanders’ father, Deion Sanders, his first loss as Colorado’s head coach.

But instead, the 1:30, 98-yard drive helped ensure Colorado will go into Pac-12 play undefeated. A pair of marquee matchups against Oregon and USC are up next.

“We showed that we have no surrender or give-up in us,” Deion Sanders said. “They never doubted themselves.”

It turned into a banner night for the Sanders family, as Colorado defensive back Shilo Sanders recorded a pick-six in the first quarter.

“Those ticket prices were worth it today,” Shilo Sanders said.

Indeed, Colorado is quickly turning into the best show in the sport.

ESPN and Fox Sports both held their pregame shows from Boulder on Saturday and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was on the Buffaloes’ sideline.

Then the game turned haywire, with Colorado on the ropes throughout.

The Buffaloes will be down one of their best players to start conference play, however, after two-way superstar Travis Hunter took a late hit that Deion said could keep him out “a few weeks.”
