BBC Breakfast Naga Munchetty slammed for ‘aggressive’ move | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

BBC Breakfast fans ripped into Naga Munchetty‘s “aggressive” interview approach. The presenter, 49, returned to the red sofa on Saturday (April 27) to front another instalment of the BBC programme alongside Charlie Stayt.

Sharing the top news headlines with viewers, Charlie explained that thousands of voters in England will head to the polls in local elections next week.

With 2,500 council seats up for grabs, Naga noted that last year, the Green Party secured around 200 additional seats – the highest in the party’s 500-year history.

They were joined by Green Party co-leader Adrian Ramsay and Naga wasted no time jumping straight in as she asked what the party’s targets are for this year.

The MP agreed with how well the party has done in previous years and explained their aim is to continue to increase the number of Green councillors across the country.

Naga insisted to know the target, but the politician said he didn’t want to share a specific number.

The news anchor “persisted” on finding out the figure. She said: “The Guardian reported that the Green Party believes it can add up to 760 to its ranks. Is that a figure that tallys with your personal target?”

The former Norwich City Councillor was quick to shut down this claim as he clarified that figure is the number of seats they have at the moment.

Naga interjected: “No no. It’s adding 760, taking it to 1,400.” Adrian pointed out the mistake once again as he responded: “I’ve not heard anyone name that number.
